On Bended Knees With a Bowed Heart

It takes surrender and obedience to walk with Christ. That's not easy but I know that this life that I am given is for the purpose of service. So therefore, I obediently follow and I humbly serve.

Perfect Peace

In the end, it all fits perfectly.

I say that for a reason.

Recently, I went through a very long process of getting a new phone at the time my upgrade was due.

I was at the crossroad of options.

I wanted a fairly affordable pay monthly contract on a decent phone.

I had considered a different network provider but you know, I thought i’d give my then network provider a chance.

I had taken out a new contract with my old provider but I wanted to retain the same mobile number. The conventional thing, would have been to upgrade rather than start a whole new contract. To retain my number, they wanted me to port out my number to another provider first before porting it back to them via a PAC code.  In English, it was going to take a week for me to have my number back on the new phone. In addition, I would have had to get a random pay-as-you-go sim, which I didn’t need but was obviously going to cost something.

I had already set up the new phone and transferred a fair bit of my data, apps etc. It was gonna be a bit long winded to transfer my photos but I was gonna deal with it when I crossed that bridge. I had spoken to a few people and they were of the opinion, I needed to return the phone, end the contract and start out with a different network provider.

But holding the new phone in my hand, made that decision so difficult. I was gonna pay for postage and packaging to send this phone back safely and cancel the contract. Sigh. Really? Plus I’ve just spent a whole afternoon setting it up. Was that all a waste?

After some thought, I returned the phone the very next day. I had no plan B but it felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders.

A couple of weeks later, I ended up getting a new phone (what I actually wanted) with a network provider ( I actually wanted) and contract deal that actually worked for me. I’m actually very satisfied with my phone (Yes I totally made the iphone to android switch btw! It is do-able. lol #TeamBetterBatteryLife).

So while I was pondering on this experience, it made me think of a few things.

How often are we quick to settle for something/someone that seems to plug the gap but is really not the best for us? How often do we linger in situations that are damaging us because it’s too uncomfortable to venture into the unknown? How often are we quick to jump the ship of patience and just get things done on our terms ‘cos time is ticking? Sadly, how often do we then end up taking on more stress and burdens because in the long term what we chose stole our peace?

Life is full of waiting.

If you’ve waited this long for that thing, event, person…

Hang in there.

Let the right things happen at the right time.

You may not know how it will come together but it will.

Be patient.

In the end, it all fits perfectly
